Tara Giarratano is an attorney in the Commercial Department of Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn (HK&Q®).
Originally from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, Attorney Giarratano received her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Wilkes University. She continued her education with a full scholarship to Penn State Dickinson Law, where she earned a Juris Doctor degree cum laude. Attorney Giarratano was honored as a member of the Woolsack Honor Society because she graduated in the top ten percent of her law school class. Attorney Giarratano also received CALI Awards for earning the highest grade in her class in Business Entities, Evidence, and Pennsylvania Criminal Law.
Attorney Giarratano practices in the areas of commercial litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, and corporate compliance, and has served as counsel to several educational institutions, including both private and public institutions. Attorney Giarratano’s experience in representing colleges and universities has included providing advice and representation in the areas of the Community College Act, FERPA, and Title IX of the Civil Rights Act.
Attorney Giarratano is admitted to the Pennsylvania Courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the team at HKQ, Attorney Giarratano litigated civil rights cases and practiced criminal defense—experiences which taught her to fight hard for every client, no matter how tough the case.
Attorney Giarratano is a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen Advisory Board, a director of the Wilkes University Alumni Association, a graduate of Leadership Northeast’s Core Program, a former member of the Young Professionals Board of Junior Achievement of NEPA, and a lifelong parishioner of St. Jude’s Church.
